Welcome to our three bedroom holiday cottage, a newly and tastefully renovated barn in the Cotentin Peninsula just 30 minutes drive from Cherbourg ferry port. Our cottage is in the village of Saint Lô D'Ourville, a quiet location and an ideal starting point for walks or drives in the countryside, but still only 5 minutes drive to the beach at Portbail or Lindbergh Plage. Hameau Du Pré is idealy situated to explore the Normandy region of France.
The property has two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom with cot. There is a family bathroom on each of the floors.
Distances
The village centre is a gentle 10 minutes walk away where you can get your morning croissants moments after they have come out the oven. There is also a newsagents, grocers, bar and restaurant. Portbail, 5 minutes drive away, has a bank, post office, cash machine, supermarkets and a good choice of restaurants.
Travel
Saint Lô D'Ourville is an easy 30km drive from Cherbourg ferry port along the quiet D650. It is also possible to drive from Caen or Le Havre. The ferry crossing from Poole or Portsmouth takes approx 2 hours by catamaran and 4 hours by standard ferry crossing. Dinard Airport is a 2 hour drive away and Flybe operate flights from Southamton to Cherbourg.
Coast/Beach
Nearest beach is Lindbergh Plage, a 5 minute drive. Beautiful sandy beach set in
a protected area where a walk in the dunes leading to the next sailing resort town
of Portbail is a must. A few miles North is Carteret whose beaches have been awarded
the European Blue Flag for water that has been warmed by the Gulf Stream. There are
